Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant (Cost Accounting Responsibilities) is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling costs related to the company's manufacturing, maintenance, service projects, and spare parts sales. The role involves preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, managing cost structures, and ensuring accurate cost allocation for improved financial performance. Additionally, the position includes supporting cash flow forecasting for new projects, supporting budgeting efforts, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations.


Supporting Cash Flow Management & Financial Planning



  • Support preparing cash flow forecasts for new projects, considering revenue, expenses, and funding needs.

  • Support Monitoring cash inflows and outflows to optimize financial planning and liquidity.

  • Assist in financial modeling and cost-benefit analysis for new business opportunities.


Accounts Payable & Supplier Reconciliation



  • Oversee the reconciliation of accounts payable, ensuring accurate payments to suppliers.

  • Maintain records of supplier transactions and resolve discrepancies promptly.

  • Verify and process supplier invoices, ensuring proper cost allocation.

  • Collaborate with procurement and logistics to validate cost and inventory accuracy.


Budgeting & Reporting



  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.

  • Track budget performance and report variances to management.

  • Support the financial team in preparing profitability and cost-effectiveness reports.

  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and internal controls.


Financial Audits & Compliance



  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary cost-related documentation.

  • Maintain compliance with tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and company policies.

  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in cost reporting.


Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly & Ad-Hoc Tasks


Daily Tasks



  • Track and record daily expenses, cost transactions, and invoice processing.

  • Reconcile accounts payable with supplier statements.

  • Monitor cash flow and report any urgent financial concerns.

  • Verify cost allocations for new transactions.


Weekly Tasks



  • Prepare short-term cash flow forecasts and updates.

  • Analyze weekly cost variances and investigate discrepancies.

  • Reconcile weekly supplier invoices with received goods and services.

  • Generate cost reports and share insights with the finance team.


Monthly Tasks



  • Prepare and review monthly financial reports on cost performance.

  • Conduct month-end reconciliation of accounts payable and project costs.

  • Analyze monthly cash flow and identify potential funding gaps.

  • Assist in monthly budget variance analysis and report findings to management.


Yearly Tasks



  • Participate in the annual budgeting process and long-term financial planning.

  • Support external audits by providing cost accounting records and reports.

  • Conduct year-end reconciliation of cost accounts and ensure proper financial reporting.

  • Analyze overall financial performance related to cost efficiency and propose improvements.


Ad-Hoc Tasks



  • Prepare financial models and feasibility studies for new projects or investments.

  • Support management with cost-saving initiatives and operational improvements.

  • Assist in tax filings and compliance audits as required.

  • Perform ad-hoc financial analyses requested by senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain cost accounting systems to track direct and indirect costs.
  • Analyze and report cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Calculate and monitor product and service costs, including materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Ensure accurate allocation of costs to projects, production lines, and departments.
  • Assist in pricing decisions by providing cost analysis and margin calculations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, financial modeling, and cost analysis tools.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, or a related role.
